Birdseye Returns to Venice for ECC 2024 Venice Art Biennale Exhibition “Personal Structures”

Birdseye has been invited to return to Venice, Italy by the European Cultural Centre (ECC) to take part in their “Personal Structures” Exhibition during the 2024 Venice Art Biennale. located in the prestigious Palazzo Mora.

The group show seeks to document the diversity of contemporary art in today’s world, aiming to feature and combine different expressions from visual artists, galleries, as well as photographers, sculptors, institutions, and universities, that break away from any ideological, political and geographical barriers. Considering the complex dynamics of our global society, Beyond Boundaries was chosen as the guiding title for this seventh edition of Personal Structures.

Birdseye’s entry is called “UNTITLED” and is made from acrylic and the deconstructed cardboard models and papers drawings from the 27 years of practice of Principal Architect Brian J. Mac, FAIA. The acrylic case is accompanied by a video display showing a timelapse of the creation of the artwork.

Louis Mannie Lionni, the longtime Burlington provocateur, retired architect, and editor of 05401 magazine, was invited by Brian to write about the artwork for the exhibition’s official catalog. Mannie’s participation on the project is fitting as he studied architecture in Venice over 70 years ago, as evidenced by the image below of him driving a gondola through a Venetian canal.

The Personal Structures Exhibition runs from April 20th through November 24th, 202024 at the Palazzo Mora, Palazzo Bembo and Giardini Marinaressa in Venice, Italy. For more information on the exhibition visit https://personalstructures.com/ .
