Scragg Mountain

The mountainside retreat, located in the Mad River Valley of Vermont, is a series of rustic wood and stone-clad spaces developed to blend harmoniously together. The exterior is composed of an abundance of varied materials includes logs, shingles, chinking, and assorted timber accents. The stone walls, stone chimneys and stone-clad exterior walls integrate the architecture into the landscape.

Large covered entries and custom crafted entry doors offer a preview of the refined spaces inside. Hand-built cabinetry, bookshelves, ceilings and stairways decorate the generous double-height interiors. A large stone fireplace and mantle anchors the living room and provides a fanciful detail to the kitchen beyond.
