Hand-crafted architectural model illustrating the vision for the gallery expansion.
Ground has been broken, concrete has been poured, and the transformation of Yester House is officially underway at the Southern Vermont Arts Center.
We’ve partnered with SVAC to lead the design of the Yester House expansion project, a growing cultural destination for taking in works of art and views of nature that only Vermont can offer.
Our design comprises a two-floor, 12,000 square-foot addition. It includes a main-level gallery showcasing 250 works from the world’s largest private collection of 20th-century Vermont art, For the Love of Vermont, the Lyman Orton Collection; a lower-level, museum-class exhibition space; a destination lookout, roof terrace, and expanded dining patio; art storage and a loading dock built for an expanding collection and national loans; and an ADA-compliant elevator providing access to the new building and both floors of Yester House.
The expansion lays the foundation for a series of changes coming to SVAC’s 100 acres and will serve as a space for visitors to gather and appreciate some of Vermont's finest art and nature. We're honored to be a part of this next phase of growth.
