Green Mountain Meadow
The interior’s custom finishes, from the wood ceilings and beams to the exposed concrete floors, reflect a natural yet modern aesthetic, blending warmth with contemporary design.
Green Mountain Meadow embodies a careful fusion of modern living and its natural surroundings, situated at the top of a meadow with expansive westerly views.
The design philosophy for this retreat focused on making minimal, selective edits to the landscape, resulting in a home that feels like a natural extension of the terrain. The architecture fits seamlessly into the steep hillside through a series of stone and concrete retaining walls that terrace the land, culminating in a second-story metal walkway providing access and framing the expansive views.
The home’s interior is bathed in natural light, with large windows and high ceilings that create an open, airy atmosphere. Level changes within the house are complemented by custom finishes, including wood beams and ceilings that bring warmth, and polished concrete floors that enhance the modern aesthetic. The centrally located firewood storage adds both a functional and visual element to the interior. Halvorson Design’s landscape architecture grounds the project, creating harmony between the residence and its environment.
