Experienced Carpenter

Established in 1984, Birdseye is a Vermont-based building and design company dedicated to high-quality craft and continuous innovation.

We are seeking skilled and professional carpenters with 8+ years of experience to join our Richmond and Woodstock area Carpentry teams. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both rough and finish carpentry and have experience leading a crew or mentoring new carpenters.

What you bring to the job

A minimum of 8 years of carpentry experience, including both rough and finish carpentry, preferably on high-quality, residential projects.

The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with fellow crew members, supervisors, sub-contractors, and vendors.

A willingness to take direction, guidance, and constructive feedback. 

True enjoyment of being part of a team and working toward a common goal.

Ruthless attention to detail.

Initiative to work independently and self-awareness to ask questions.

At minimum, your tool belt, general carpentry hand tools, and a drill and/or driver.

A bright, eager, can-do attitude and the desire to uplift and support others when needed.

Discretion.

General job responsibilities

Perform carpentry work including, but not limited to: framing, siding, stairs, window and door installation, interior trim, and finish work.

Perform building work through all phases of construction—from framing to interior finish. We build beautiful homes but also get our hands dirty, and occasional demolition assistance may be required.

Arrive to work on time and be ready to work a full day.

Have reliable transportation.

Work in varied weather conditions.

Pay range is $30-$36/hour, depending on experience and skills.
