Experienced Woodworker

We’re seeking a team player with strong woodworking skills, an eye for detail, and a great attitude who is interested in building all types of custom woodwork in our dynamic shop in Richmond, Vermont.

The right candidate will be attentive, engaged, efficient, innovative, and excited to work as a team member. We’re looking for a self-starter with the mathematical skills to build cabinets, doors, stairs, and furniture that meet very specific architectural and design guidelines. You’ll work alongside other members of our woodshop team to create unique pieces in a fun environment. Responsibilities

High proficiency with various hand tools, machinery, and other wood-cutting equipment including, but not limited to, jointers, table saws, bandsaws, planers, shapers, sanders, routers, chisels, hand planes, etc.

Demonstrate workplace safety as a high priority.

Well versed in the concept of wood movement and strategies to account for it.

Select appropriate materials, methods, and equipment for each task.

Plan effective approaches to work, ensuring projects are completed on time.

Exposure to, and proficiency with, various types of cabinet and architectural hardware.

Exhibit creative skills and can interpret and develop cabinet designs and layouts

Construct and assemble cabinet components and other wood parts, ensuring all pieces fit the specified dimensions.

Experience veneering using paper-backed and raw wood veneer.

Skills & Requirements

Attention to detail & great communication skills are a must.

Understanding of necessary mathematics.

Knowledge of materials and processing.

Applicable engineering and design skills.

Ability to read plans and blueprints.

At least two years of custom cabinetmaking experience.

COMPENSATION & Benefits

Pay range is $28-$36/hour, depending on experience and skills.
